Here we have highlighted some of the projects that are technically supported by GAL. Most are coordinated with the ND community to meet their research goals using geospatial techniques. Browse the links to the left to learn more about these exciting projects.

Global Runoff Data Processing for ND-GAIN Index

  • Project Period: 2014
  • GIS Lead: Milan Budhathoki
  • Project Lead: ND-GAIN

Geospatial Analysis Lab (GAL) is providing GIS services to the ND-GAIN ( Notre Dame Global Adaptation Index). Major resposibilites are but not limited to: research  geospatial data related to GAIN index parmeters , GIS data pre-processing and post processing, collaborate with ND-GAIN collaborators .GAL is currently working on runoff data for 176 countries listed in ND-GAIN. This project will utilized GIS data shared by WRI (World Research Institute) that agrees data sharing plan with ND-GAIN. Runoff data are output from 6 different models produced by WRI that has historic runoff 1950-2005 and current/future runoff 2006-2100.GAL will secularly process GIS data to meet ND-GAIN need. Raster and vector data will be processed using ArcGIS software and python automation.
